The Suifenhe road border crossing has been equipped with a transshipment area for hazardous goods.
"The Suifenhe area of the China (Heilongjiang) Pilot Free Trade Zone is the first pilot free trade zone in China to implement the 'one certificate, two lanes' system for the international road transport of hazardous goods", - according to a statement from the Suifenhe Free Trade Zone administration.
Liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) tankers entering from Russia enter the Suifenhe international road border crossing via a dedicated corridor to avoid queuing with other trucks.
The new transport corridor for hazardous goods at the border crossing has reduced costs for Chinese importers by 25%. This example of the creation of a transshipment area for hazardous goods has been included in the list of best practices by the Chinese Ministry of Commerce.
RBC Primorye previously reported that large-scale construction of an international cargo logistics port is underway in Suifenhe, which is expected to become a key hub for China's trade with Russia and Eastern European countries. The project covers an area of 23,700 square meters, and the total investment will be 120 million yuan (approximately $16.8 million).
