The Mazhilis of the Republic of Kazakhstan has ratified the Protocol on Amendments and Additions to the Agreement on checkpoints across the Kazakh-Uzbek State Border.
The key transformations will affect two important checkpoints on the border with Uzbekistan:
1. "Syrdarya – Malik"
2. "Tselinny – Ok oltin"
The following changes are provided for them:
• Change of status from "bilateral" to "international (multilateral)".
• Changing the operating mode from "during daylight hours" to "around the clock". These checkpoints will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, ensuring continuous border crossing.
A significant increase in the capacity of checkpoints will speed up cargo transportation, increase trade turnover and optimize supply chains between Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and the entire Central Asian region.
