The delegation of Ecuador, which will travel to Moscow to discuss the issue of banana supplies to the Russian Federation, will consist of representatives of business and the state, Richard Salazar, head of the Ecuadorian Banana Trade and Export Association (Acorbanec), told RIA Novosti.
"The delegation that will go (to Moscow) will consist of representatives of the state and associations of banana exporters," he said.
"The trip (was organized) to strengthen the bonds of friendship, improve diplomatic and trade relations, to exchange information, criteria and technical aspects about this humpback fly and, in addition, to give a sense of security to our consumers," Salazar added.
In February, the Rosselkhoznadzor, concerned about the situation with the supply of bananas from Ecuador, in which the humpback fly was detected, asked the Minister of Agriculture and Livestock of the South American state to suspend the certification of five exporters of these fruits.
On Friday, the Rosselkhoznadzor returned the right to five companies from Ecuador to supply bananas under the guarantees of the Ecuadorian agency, while details regarding the technical part will be discussed.
