Belarusian Transport Minister Aleksey Lyakhnovich and Chinese Transport Minister Liu Wei backed the memorandum—which integrates electronic permits into road freight operations — during the Global Sustainable Transport Forum in Beijing, according to the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Republic of Belarus.
«Cooperation between Belarus and China in the road transport sector has reached a new level. The implementation of electronic permit systems is set to be a key driver in boosting logistics efficiency», — Aleksey Lyakhnovich emphasized.
The transition to a digital format for permit exchange in road transport is expected to yield significant benefits, such as eliminating shortages (the system will resolve the issue of physical deficits of paper forms), optimizing costs, and speeding up logistics processes.
The head of the Ministry of Transport also delivered a presentation on the use of artificial intelligence: «Today, computer vision and machine learning enable us to gather environmental data, analyze it, and generate 3D models of traffic flow. We have established a system that tracks wild animals entering the roadway and provides timely alerts to drivers. Advanced weather monitoring systems utilizing AI have also been implemented», — the minister noted.
