In the EAEU, it is necessary to switch to a non-permissive system of international cargo transportation. This was stated by Prime Minister of Belarus Roman Golovchenko during a meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council, BelTA reports.
"A lot has been done in the transport and logistics sector over the 10 years of the union's existence, but time dictates a completely different pace of work for us. It is necessary to accelerate. We see a significant reserve in the railway transportation industry. The issue of switching to a non-permissive system of international road transport of goods, including from third countries, remains relevant. So far, this work is being carried out mainly on a bilateral basis. We have formalized agreements with colleagues from Kyrgyzstan and Russia. We look forward to the involvement of the Armenian and Kazakh sides in this initiative and to greater involvement in this work of the EEC," Roman Golovchenko said.
He noted that all the EAEU states are, by and large, transit countries. "We have a common interest in this regard, which can be realized only through combining efforts and conducting a coordinated policy," the Prime Minister stressed.
