In 2024, foreign cargo carriers will be able to book the date and time of crossing the Russian border at checkpoints through the state information system of electronic transportation documents. This is reported by TASS with reference to the statements of the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation.
According to the agency, starting next year, it will also be possible to reserve travel time through the international automobile checkpoint (MAPP) on the public services portal, such a function will be available to citizens of the Russian Federation.
"In 2024, domestic carriers will be able to book the date and time of travel on the Gosuslugi portal, and foreign citizens will be able to book in the state information system of electronic transportation documents," the ministry noted.
Since September 1, 2023, checkpoints on the Russian borders have introduced an electronic queue for trucks, the system operates at checkpoints Zabaikalsk on the border with China, Bugristoe on the border with Kazakhstan and Chernyshevskoye on the border with Lithuania. The Ministry of Transport recalled that the busiest checkpoints were selected as pilot ones, where the use of a system for booking the time of crossing the border by trucks is most relevant.
