Tatarstan wants to organize the work of a single logistics operator. He will organize flows in freight transportation by railways and rivers, according to the Minister of Transport and Road Management of the Republic of Tatarstan Farit Khanifov.
"We carry 16 million tons of cargo from the Nizhnekamsk hub, 1.3 million tons from the Kazan hub, and 12-15 million tons of cargo enter the Republic of Tatarstan. This is a large volume. There are 10 thousand wagons at Nizhnekamsk junction every day. Proper organization of these flows is necessary. In a couple of years we will be shipping 20 million tons of cargo. And the technologies that enterprises have put in place give confidence that more and more products will be produced there. The Nizhnekamsk hub is becoming an important element for the entire Russian Federation," the minister stressed.
The official also added that a single logistics operator can also organize river freight transportation. He said that river cargo ports in Naberezhnye Chelny, Nizhnekamsk, Zelenodolsk and Kazan are currently being analyzed for this purpose.
