Four roadside complexes for heavy-duty truck drivers passing through the Kani-Kurgan international border crossing are set to be built in the Amur Region by 2030. Regional Governor Vasily Orlov stated that this infrastructure development is driven by the growing volume of traffic across the Blagoveshchensk-Heihe bridge and resident complaints regarding trucks parked along roadsides, which create traffic hazards, Trans.ru reports.
The projects are being implemented at several locations. A free 100-space parking lot is already operational on the Novotroitskoye Highway; by 2027, it will be expanded into a full-service complex featuring a motel and a café. Near the village of Rovnoye, a large-scale facility will be constructed by 2030, comprising a guarded parking lot, a service station, a car wash, a laundry facility, and a 30-room hostel.
Two additional sites will be established in the Svobodnensky and Seryshevsky districts. Construction of a rest area near the village of Pridorozhnoye—featuring a café, a shop, an 18-room motel, a bathhouse, and a tire service center — is nearing completion. A similar complex is scheduled for construction in 2027 near the traffic interchange located 9 km from Seryshevo.
The creation of these new service centers will help remove trucks from road shoulders, providing drivers with quality rest and maintenance services while ensuring safer roads for local residents.
