The issue of exempting producers of canned fish in the Kaliningrad region from paying duties on the export of products will be resolved in the near future. This was announced by the head of the Ministry of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov at a meeting on the socio-economic development of the region under the leadership of President Vladimir Putin in Kaliningrad on Thursday, Interfax writes.
"We have considered all the issues, the draft resolution has already been submitted to the government literally this week, the government promptly considers and accepts such issues, so we will resolve this issue in the near future," Reshetnikov said.
According to him, at the end of last year, a law was adopted that allows goods from certain regions to be exempt from export duties. "There was just such an application from Kaliningrad and the Far East, since the markets are far away, the transport shoulder often makes these markets poorly connected for a number of products. And it is extremely important for Kaliningrad to exempt canned fish and canned seafood produced here from duties," the minister said.
As reported, the draft resolution prepared by the Ministry of Economic Development provides for the exemption of 4.4 thousand tons of canned fish and 100 tons of canned seafood supplied from the Kaliningrad region from export duties in 2024
