A meeting of the joint committee on international road transport between China and Kazakhstan was held in Beijing, the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan reported. The Kazakh delegation was headed by the Chairman of the Committee of Motor Transport and Transport Control of the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Main results of the meeting:
• Issues of improving the licensing system, developing the border infrastructure and expanding the route network in the field of passenger transportation were discussed.
• An agreement has been reached to switch to an unlimited format for the exchange of foreign permit forms without setting quantitative quotas by the end of the year.
• It was decided to pay special attention to increasing the capacity of the Nur Zholy checkpoint on both sides of the border.
• By the end of the first half of this year, it is planned to introduce the possibility of paying for toll roads through the WeChat Pay payment service.
The parties stressed the importance of further strengthening bilateral cooperation and expressed their readiness to continue constructive cooperation in the field of international road transport.
