A meeting of the Kazakhstan-Turkey Joint Commission on Road Transport took place in Antalya, according to Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Transport. The parties reached significant agreements aimed at developing international freight transport and strengthening transit links between the two nations.
A key outcome of the negotiations was granting Kazakh road hauliers the right to load goods directly at Turkish seaports for subsequent delivery to Kazakhstan. Starting in 2026, the two countries will exchange an annual quota of 3,000 permits for the transport of such transit cargo.
Furthermore, the partners agreed to completely lift quantitative restrictions on the use of electronic permits. This decision will help significantly optimize logistics, increase transport flexibility, and enable a rapid response to current business needs.
Representatives from both countries expressed satisfaction with the meeting's results, emphasizing that the new agreements would provide a major boost to expanding trade and economic cooperation and strengthening the partnership between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
