The Kyrgyz Tax Service has doubled fines for illegally importing goods from EAEU countries, RZD-Partner reports, citing Kyrgyz tax authorities.
The Kyrgyz Tax Service has issued a statement reiterating the significant increase in penalties for illegally moving goods across the border with EAEU countries, which took effect on December 31, 2025. According to amendments to the Code of Offenses, fines for importing goods without the required documents have been doubled. For legal entities, the fine is now 65,000 soms, up from 28,000.
For repeat offenders within a year, even more severe penalties are envisaged: the fine increases to 100,000 soms for companies, and the law also allows for the confiscation of undeclared goods.
Products at high risk include cosmetics, dietary supplements, medications, mobile phones, tobacco products, and e-cigarettes. The State Tax Service urges businesses to comply with established procedures to avoid significant financial losses.
