Lithuanian authorities have again closed two border crossings with the Republic of Belarus indefinitely, TASS reports citing the National Crisis Management Center.
"Border crossings in the village of Medininkai (Kamenny Log) and the district center of Šalčininkai (Benyakoni) have been closed for an unknown period", — the National Crisis Management Center said in a statement. There are no operational crossings left.
Traffic was suspended at 11:30 PM on October 26 and has not yet been restored. According to the State Customs Committee, only 110 trucks were able to exit the Kamenny Log and Benyakoni border crossings. Currently, nearly 1,600 trucks are registered in the online queue for exiting Lithuania.
The Lithuanian government's National Security Commission will decide today, October 27, how long the border with Belarus will remain closed.
