Mongolia will use 10 more checkpoints on the borders with Russia and China to increase exports of plants and plant products. The Government of the republic has already approved amendments to the relevant resolution, the platform reports Trans.ru.
On the border with the Russian Federation, two automobile crossings fell under the expansion of exports:
• Verkhny Ulkhun (Zabaykalsky Krai) / Ulkhun Mongolian settlement;
• Tsagan-Tolgoi (Tyva) / the Mongolian point of Arts-Sur.
To ensure the growing cargo flow, these border crossings are being upgraded, significantly increasing their capacity.
Currently, there are 8 automobile and 2 railway crossings on the Russian-Mongolian border. Since Mongolia is one of the priority logistics destinations for Russia and a key transit route for goods from China, the expansion of the checkpoint will significantly increase the volume of cargo transportation between the countries.
