4 pairs of container trains pass in this direction every month. Container transportation along the eastern branch of the North–South railway with the participation of the railways of Kazakhstan and Turkmenistan was not actually carried out until 2022, although there were opportunities, says Sergey Saburov, Deputy General Director of the Directorate of International Transport Corridors. His words are transmitted by the Russian Railways-Partner news agency.
"Since February 2022, Russian Railways-Logistics has started and launched this service. Currently, up to 4 pairs of trains per month are actually carried out. And initially the cost per container was $ 11 thousand, today it has decreased to $ 5.5 thousand," he said.
According to S. Saburov, this service is distinguished by the predicted delivery time, which is important for both the sender and the recipient of the cargo.
