Railway ferries of the Ust-Luga - Baltiysk line transported about 98 thousand tons of cargo in March 2024, Interfax reports, citing a statement from the press service of Oboronlogistics LLC.
"In total, the ferries transported about 98 thousand tons of cargo there and back (including about 2 thousand wagons and 1.8 thousand units of rolling equipment). The main range of goods consisted of fuel, lubricants and construction materials, fertilizers, as well as food products," the press service reported.
The ministry clarifies that "the total number of transported goods is higher than last month, as the ferries made 4 more trips and priority places were given to rolling equipment."
Three railway ferries operated on the Ust-Luga - Baltiysk line in March: Baltiysk, Marshal Rokossovsky and General Chernyakhovsky. The Ambal ferry, as the press service recalled, is under scheduled repair, its entry into the line is expected after April 10, 2024.
Bulk carriers Sparta, Sparta II and Tansy, operating on the St. Petersburg - Kaliningrad container line, transported 27.5 thousand tons of cargo in March (25 thousand tons in February), including 28.2 thousand tons of container cargo, 94 units of rolling equipment and 376 tons of general cargo.
As reported, at the end of March 2024, the universal cargo ship Sparta went for scheduled repairs.
At the beginning of March, a total of 24 ships and ferries provided maritime cargo transportation between the Kaliningrad Region and the main territory of Russia. They operate on several regular lines: Ust-Luga - Baltiysk, Bronka - Kaliningrad, St. Petersburg - Baltiysk, St. Petersburg - Kaliningrad.
