A Free Trade Agreement between the EAEU and Indonesia was signed during a meeting of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, the Russian Ministry of Economic Development reported.
«Over the past five years, trade with Indonesia has increased by 1.3 times. This year, we have also seen positive dynamics – from January to October, our mutual trade increased by more than 15%», — stated Russian Minister of Economic Development Maxim Reshetnikov.
The agreement provides preferential access to the Indonesian market for 99% of current Russian exports. As a result of the agreement's implementation, Indonesia's average tariff will be reduced by more than half – from 8% to 3.2%, and the vast majority of Russian shipments will be exempt from customs duties.
The signed free trade agreement will be submitted for ratification procedures in Indonesia and the EAEU countries, which are necessary for its entry into force.
