Chairman of the EEC Board Bakytzhan Sagintayev held a working meeting with Vietnamese Prime Minister Pham Minh Tinh to discuss the 10th anniversary of the Free Trade Agreement between the EAEU and Vietnam, the EEC press service reported.
Vietnam, as the EAEU's first partner under this agreement, is seen as a key link in cooperation with ASEAN countries, which is of strategic importance for the development of trade and logistics flows.
Key points for logistics market participants:
➭ Trade turnover growth: Over the 10th anniversary of the agreement (2016 to 2025), trade turnover between the EAEU and Vietnam increased by more than 60%, reaching $8.3 billion by 2025. This steady growth signals a growing demand for transport and logistics services.
➭ Prioritizing digitalization: The parties focused on the digitalization of trade and customs processes. This promises to simplify procedures and increase the efficiency of international transportation, especially given Kazakhstan's 2026 chairmanship of the EAEU, which focuses on technological solutions.
➭ Developing transport and logistics connectivity: The active use of the potential of Eurasian land routes and their integration with the infrastructure of ASEAN countries was discussed. This opens up new prospects for creating multimodal supply chains and expanding the geography of transportation.
