The governor of the Amur Region, Vasily Orlov, proposed to introduce a round-the-clock operation mode for the Blagoveshchensk-Heihe cross-border road bridge. This was reported by the government of the region, writes Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
The initiative was announced by the head of the Amur Region during a meeting with the governor of Heilongjiang Province, Liang Huiling, during a meeting during the Russian-Chinese EXPO in Harbin.
He proposed, as an experiment, to organize the work of checkpoints around the clock in the summer, and then draw joint conclusions.
"I think this decision will ensure the rhythmicity of transportation, primarily of dangerous goods, and will also provide additional opportunities for business in the two countries," said Vasily Orlov.
In addition, the governor of the Far Eastern region proposed to involve companies from China even more actively in the implementation of projects in the territory of advanced development "Amur". The parties also discussed the construction project of a railway bridge between Jalinda (Skovorodinsky district of the Amur region of Russia) and Mohe (Heilongjiang Province of China).
