Kyrgyzstan will increase the amount of fines for foreign cargo carriers for entering the country without permission. The relevant amendments to the Code of Offenses were adopted by the Jogorku Kenesh in the third reading, reports bamap.org .
The document states that due to the low fine for entering the country without permission, foreign carriers do not comply with the requirements of international agreements and national legislation. For example, they enter the territory of the country with an unfilled permit, without passing through transport control at checkpoints and without a mark on the permit form and registration card. According to the developers of the document, in this way the interests of the state and domestic road carriers are infringed.
"For example, for such violations in Kazakhstan, a fine of 600 thousand tenge (122 thousand 400 soms) is imposed, in Russia — up to 200 thousand rubles (up to 216 thousand soms)," the document says.
Currently, the Ministry of Transport and Communications of the Kyrgyz Republic is exchanging travel permit forms with 41 states through which domestic carriers carry out international cargo transportation, participate in the export and import of goods. Foreign road carriers enter the territory of Kyrgyzstan on the basis of Kyrgyz permits issued, the Association of International Road Carriers writes.
