A law providing for the creation of a registry of road freight carriers in Russia has been signed, Alta-Soft reports.
The law aims to create a mechanism whose implementation will ensure transparency in the commercial road freight transportation market, bring illegal carriers out of the shadows, and improve the safety of freight transportation.
The law stipulates that carriers operating trucks over 3.5 tons are permitted to provide freight transportation services within the Russian Federation from the date of their registration in the registry of road freight carriers.
A legal entity or individual entrepreneur must submit a notification of freight transportation to Rostransnadzor using their personal account in the State Information System "Gosuslugi". No later than one business day following the date of notification, information about the legal entity, individual entrepreneur, and vehicle is entered into the registry.
In accordance with the law, the register will be maintained by Rostransnadzor electronically on the Russian Federation's national digital transport and logistics platform, GosLog.
