The first vehicle under the TIR system has passed through the Kraskino-Hunchun border crossing. The opening of the TIR corridor has accelerated cargo transportation between China and Russia, BAMAP reports. According to Xinhua, the vehicle transported an ice resurfacing machine across the border on September 27.
It is noted that since the opening of TIR traffic, the process has become significantly faster, and vehicles are crossing instantly.
"After the opening of TIR traffic, everything has become much faster; vehicles are crossing instantly", Xinhua reports, citing Chinese driver Jin Feng, who transported the aforementioned equipment to Vladivostok in his truck. After leaving the border crossing, delivery to the destination took only four hours, saving one to two days compared to previous transportation times and methods.
