The Border checkpoint on the border of Primorsky Krai with China will temporarily suspend operations from June 27 to June 29, 2026. This is due to the completion of the renovation and the relocation of employees to new buildings. Recent reconstruction work has increased the checkpoint's capacity by 9 times, from 8 to 22 lanes, and modern weight and size complexes and inspection systems have been installed to scan trucks in motion, ASMAP Russia reports.
The closure is due to preparatory measures: in the first two days, the crossing will be closed to vehicles so that the control authorities can move to new buildings. Work will resume on June 29 at 17:00 local time, at which point the reception of vehicles will begin on the new infrastructure.
After the reconstruction, the MAPP will be able to pass up to 1.3 thousand cars per day — 9 times more than the previous figures. This is an important event to ensure the growth of cargo traffic between Russia and China, especially given the completion of the reconstruction of the Kraskino checkpoint in Primorye and the start of large-scale work on the Zabaikalsk checkpoint in the Trans-Baikal Territory.
All these measures make it possible to maintain the increasing cargo flow on Russia's most important trade route with China.
