According to the State Customs Committee of the Republic of Belarus, more than 1,400 trucks with Polish license plates remain in Belarus after Poland closed the joint border.
Moreover, the temporary import period for these trucks is currently expiring, which could result in large fines for the carriers.
However, the Belarusian side has decided to extend this temporary import period for another 10 days: "The State Customs Committee has decided to extend the stay of Polish trucks in Belarus for another 10 days. ... Further decisions will be made after this period", - the customs authorities said in a statement.
To extend the period, the carrier must contact the customs authority in whose region the vehicle is located. It's still unclear exactly when border crossings will reopen, despite the fact that the active phase of the joint Russian-Belarusian exercises, which prompted the restrictions, has already concluded.
