On November 25, the 18th meeting of the intergovernmental commission was held in Ankara. According to the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federatio issues of infrastructure development of checkpoints, border control, mutual settlements of foreign trade participants, including using alternative platforms and digital currencies, were discussed at the meeting.
It is claimed that the parties positively assessed the progress of the Simplified Customs Corridor project through customs.
In 2023, more than 320 thousand tons of cargo worth $ 250 million were moved, the official report says.
The development of the AEO institute was also discussed at the meeting. The Turkish delegation has already visited Russia for a mutual assessment of the infrastructure – the partners expressed their readiness to continue working on concluding a corresponding agreement, the Federal Customs Service of the Russian Federation reports.
The Russian side also informed about the measures taken to develop control in seaports, primarily in Novorossiysk and Tuapse. This had a positive impact on the business activity of businesses in both countries.
Following the meeting, the parties signed protocols aimed at developing economic cooperation.
