The modernization of key border crossings in Primorye is nearing completion. According to Rosgranstroy, the new infrastructure at the Kraskino and Pogranichny checkpoints will begin operations in the spring or summer of 2026. The technical readiness of the facilities was confirmed in December 2025, and equipment certification and special inspections are currently being completed.
What will change:
➭ Kraskino checkpoint: Capacity will increase 8.5-fold (up to 750 vehicles per day). Traffic will now be 16 lanes instead of 4.
➭ Pogranichny checkpoint: Capacity will increase 9-fold (up to 1,300 vehicles per day). The number of lanes will be expanded from 8 to 22.
The facilities are already equipped with modern portal inspection systems and intelligent security systems, which will significantly speed up the passage of cargo across the Russian-Chinese border.
