Due to the Mid-Autumn Festival and the National Day of the People's Republic of China, the operating schedule of road border crossings along the Kyrgyz-Chinese state border will temporarily change. The State Border Service of the Kyrgyz Republic has officially announced this.
Two key road border crossings — Irkeshtam and Torugart — will temporarily suspend operations. A third crossing point between Kyrgyzstan and China is currently operating under restricted conditions as well.
Schedule of temporary restrictions:
• Mid-Autumn Festival: Border crossings will close at 22:00 on September 25 and resume accepting vehicles at 08:00 on September 26.
• National Day of the PRC: The suspension will be longer; crossing points will be closed from 22:00 on October 1 until 08:00 on October 4.
During these periods, the passage of individuals and vehicles across the state border will not take place. The Border Service advises drivers, freight carriers, and travelers to plan their routes in advance and take these changes into account.
