The Federal Customs Service of Russia informs about the increase in cargo traffic on the Russian-Azerbaijani section of the border. To avoid congestion at the Yarag-Kazmalyar and Tagirkent-Kazmalyar checkpoints, customs switched to an enhanced regime, and the capacity of the control zone was expanded to 400 vehicles.
An average of 1,000 to 1,400 cargo vehicles cross the Yarag-Kazmalyar and Tagirkent-Kazmalyar checkpoints every day. The customs authorities pay special attention to the registration of food products and perishable products coming from Iran, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia. Fresh vegetables and fruits are a priority.
Since January 2026, North Caucasian customs officers have processed more than 2.7 million tons of goods, which is 14.5% more than the same period last year.
In order to minimize delays, transport companies need to plan flights carefully and provide advance cargo information in advance to speed up control.
