Starting in the fall of 2026, a new order from the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation comes into force, regulating the work of drivers within the country. Despite the reissue of the document, the key norms remain the same — the update is related to the requirement to review regulations every six years. The new regulations will be in effect until September 1, 2032.
Basic standards:
• Working week: maximum 40 hours.
• Shift duration: up to 10 hours. An extension of another 2 hours is allowed to complete the flight or get to the parking lot.
• Car driving: no more than 56 hours per week and no more than 90 hours in total for two consecutive weeks.
Breaks and rest:
• Special break: at least 45 minutes after every 4.5 hours driving. It can be divided into parts: 15 and 30 minutes.
• Rest: daily — at least 11 hours. A reduction of up to 9 hours is allowed (but no more than 3 times a week). Weekly rest: a full 45 hours.
Working hours, in addition to driving, officially include: pre-trip medical examinations; preparation of the car for departure; waiting time for loading and unloading; self-repair of the car.
