The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission has approved a comprehensive plan for the development of Eurasian transport corridors until 2025. The document includes 10 events and is aimed at implementing the key provisions of the EAEU transport policy, covering almost all aspects of the work of the five countries and the Commission for the Development of Transport Infrastructure, the press service of the EEC reports.
The Minister of Energy and Infrastructure of the EEC, Arzybek Kozhoshev, stressed that this is a very important document.
"It is necessary for the further formation of the unified transport space of the EAEU, the integration of the transport systems of the five countries into the global transport system, the realization and development of transit potential within the Union," the minister said.
The development of a comprehensive plan has become a logical continuation of the work on the creation and development of Eurasian transport corridors, the list of which was approved by the Order of the Board on October 26, 2021. The document was prepared in accordance with the roadmap for the implementation of the Main directions and stages of the coordinated transport policy of the EAEU countries for 2021-2023.
We are talking about developing target indicators for the development of Eurasian transport corridors and preparing a passport for these routes, identifying and eliminating bottlenecks.
When developing the document, information on the EAEU countries on the development of road, railway and port infrastructure included in the list of Eurasian transport corridors was taken into account. In the future, it is planned to update it on an ongoing basis, which will allow monitoring the implementation of the measures laid down in the plan.
