On October 15, 2026, as part of Kazakhstan Transport Week, the first pilot shipment using the e-CMR electronic international consignment note will launch on the Kazakhstan–Russia route, the EAEU reports.
Preliminary project results were discussed at a working group meeting chaired by Rustan Zhenalinov, Director of the Transport and Infrastructure Department of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC). Representatives from government agencies, electronic document management (EDM) operators, trusted third-party (TTP) providers, experts, and the business community of EAEU member states participated in the initiative.
To date, the participants have successfully established inter-operator cooperation, ensured the functionality of a cross-border "trust space," and fully digitized the e-CMR processing workflow.
According to Rustan Zhenalinov, creating a unified digital space will allow data to move faster than paper documents and physical cargo, establishing electronic document management as the standard for international transport operations among the Union's member states.
The Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission is scheduled to review the results of the pilot project in December 2026.
