The Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) has updated the procedure for completing goods declarations, expanding the instances in which information regarding transport vehicles must or may be provided, the EEC press center reports.
First, in the case of periodic customs declarations, the declarant may now — at their own discretion — include information about the transport vehicle at the point of departure from the customs territory, provided such information is available.
Second, it is now permitted to declare details concerning vehicles intended for the transport of goods to the point of exit from the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) territory, even if the goods have not yet been loaded. Previously, it was only permissible to specify transport vehicles onto which goods had already been loaded for carriage within the Union.
«These amendments will help resolve issues faced by businesses — both when declaring goods that have not yet been loaded within the EAEU and when exporting Union goods to third countries», noted Sergey Shklyaev, EEC Minister in charge of Customs Cooperation. «Importantly, providing this information remains optional for declarants; it is a right rather than an obligation, ensuring that the current regulatory environment for participants in foreign economic activity remains unchanged».
