Automobile cargo transportation between Kazakhstan and China has increased significantly, the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan noted.
In this regard, the issuance of foreign permit forms for international cargo transportation has also increased, Sputnik Kazakhstan reports, referring to the statement of the head of the department Marat Karabayev.
A meeting was held in Urumqi between representatives of the Ministry of Transport and the Department of Transport of the XUAR regarding the transition from paper permit forms to electronic format. Technical specialists from both sides discussed a detailed plan of the necessary practical measures for the implementation of this project.
At that time, the parties agreed to conduct the first test passage using an electronic permit in November 2024 and to launch an electronic exchange of permit forms from January 2025.
By the way, 170,000 forms have been received since the beginning of 2024. For comparison, over 113,000 forms were used in 8 months of 2023.
Karabayev also checked the condition of highways of national importance in the Akmola region, where he went on a working trip, met with representatives of contracting organizations.
Thus, as part of the scaling up of the medium repair program, such transport highways as Kokshetau-Zeranda, Makinsk-Aksu-Torgai and Kokshetau-Omsk will be repaired in the region.
Taking into account the development of the Zerenda resort area, as well as the increase in traffic intensity on the Kokshetau-Zerenda section, it is planned to repair a 47-kilometer section with a 3-lane reverse traffic control with traffic signs and markings.
Specialists have already started a certain part of the work. The full completion of the work is scheduled for 2025.
In 2025, work will also be completed on the 36-kilometer section of the Kokshetau-Omsk road. This road provides access to the Russian Federation through the territory of the North Kazakhstan region.
