Wine exports from Georgia in the first half of 2024 amounted to $156.7 million in value terms, an increase of 24% compared to the same period last year, Interfax writes, citing data from the National Wine Agency.
In physical terms, wine exports increased by 26% to 54.5 million liters.
According to the National Wine Agency, 75% of Georgian wine is sent to Russia. In January-June 2024, 41 million liters of wine were exported to Russia (an increase of 36.7%) in the amount of $111.1 million (an increase of 35.8%).
In 2023, wine exports from Georgia increased in value terms by 2.6%, to $259 million, while supplies in kind decreased by 12%, to 89.5 million liters. Deliveries to Russia last year amounted to 62.2 million liters (a decrease of 10.9%) by $168.3 million (an increase of 4.7%).
