In January - February of this year, Georgia exported about 13.2 thousand tons of wine to Russia, which is 54.3% more than the same indicator in 2023. This is evidenced by the data of the National Statistics Service of Georgia, TASS reports.
According to the ministry, Georgia exported 13,205.9 tons of wine worth $35.9 million to Russia. In the first two months of last year, the same figure amounted to 8.5 thousand tons worth $23.8 million. In the total volume of exports of goods to Russia, the share of wine amounted to 37.1%.
The volume of supplies of mineral water to Russia, as well as carbonated drinks containing sugar, increased by 10.9%, amounting to about 30.4 thousand tons. Imports of goods from Russia to Georgia amounted to $313.7 million in January - February, which is 7.3% lower than the same indicator last year. Imports of oil and petroleum products amounted to 120.9 thousand tons in the amount of $90.1 million, a decrease of 18.9%. At the same time, the volume of wheat and meslin supplies increased almost one and a half times, amounting to 47.5 thousand tons against 32 thousand tons in January - February 2023.
