In Kazakhstan, tariffs for cargo transportation increased by 4.4% over the year, the Kazakh Telegraph Agency reports, citing data from the National Bureau.
It has become more expensive to transport goods by road by 2.8%. The cost of freight transportation within the country increased by 3.4%, and by international traffic – by 2.3%. At the same time, the tariff for the transportation of frozen products abroad increased by 28.7%.
Air transportation of goods is now 1.7% more expensive. Tariffs on domestic routes increased by 0.5%, and on international routes by 2.3%.
Transportation by pipeline increased in price by 2.7% year-on-year. The increase affected crude oil supplies – by 8.1%. It has also become more expensive to transport goods by sea by 11.2%.
Earlier, Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, in response to a parliamentary inquiry, said that KTZ needs to raise tariffs for mainline railway network services in order to cover the company's debt, which today amounts to 2.9 trillion tenge. However, the deputies noted that this would hit the pockets of exporters, for whom freight tariffs are increased annually.
