Kazakh Minister of Transport Marat Karabayev, at a meeting with APM Terminals Poti CEO Christian Roeder, discussed the development of transport infrastructure within the framework of the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (TMTM).

“On October 9, Minister Karabayev held a meeting with Christian Roeder, CEO of APM Terminals Poti. The main topic of the meeting was the discussion of increasing the volume of cargo transportation and the development of transport infrastructure within the framework of TMTM,” the message reads.
The Minister also noted a significant increase in traffic volumes along the Middle Corridor by 70% in the first 9 months of 2024, which amounted to 3.4 million tons.
Speaking about the development of the Middle Corridor, Karabayev pointed to the growth of container traffic, which, according to him, reached 34.6 thousand TEU in 8 months of 2024, an increase of three times compared to the same period last year. Also, in January-August, the transit of containers from China increased by more than 20 times.
“The parties expressed their readiness for further cooperation, “which will strengthen transport links between Kazakhstan and APM Terminals, as well as ensure the growth of container traffic along the Trans-Caspian route,” the information says.
