The trade balance between Greece and Russia remained negative in April 2024, imports from Russia decreased by 52% compared to April 2023, exports to Russia fell by 2.6%. This was reported by the Statistical Service of Greece (Elstat), writes TASS.
According to her, the cost of Greek imports from Russia in April decreased by 52% to €92.7 million compared to April 2023 (€193.2 million). The value of Greece's exports to Russia in April 2024 amounted to €6.5 million, which is 2.6% less than in April 2023 (€6.7 million). The trade balance between Greece and Russia in April 2024 was negative, with a deficit of €86.2 million.
In the period from January to April 2024, the value of Greek imports from Russia amounted to €373.9 million, which is 69.7% less than in the same period of 2023 (€1 billion 232 million).
The value of Greece's exports to Russia in the first four months of 2024 amounted to €28 million, a decrease of 20% compared to January -April 2023 (€35 million). The trade balance between Greece and Russia in the period from January to April 2024 was negative, with a deficit of €345.9 million.
According to Elstat, the main item of Greek imports from the Russian Federation in April were hydrocarbons, the second place was occupied by unprocessed aluminum, the third - wheat and semolina. Greece mainly supplied olive oil and fractions from it, jams, marmalades, jellies, fruit and nut pastes, processed or canned vegetables to Russia.
