Due to increased import duties for wines from unfriendly countries, the volume of deliveries of young imported wine from France to Russia decreased by 40%. This was reported to RIA Novosti journalists by representatives of the industry.
Dmitry Zhurkin, Import Director of Ladoga, said that only 11 thousand bottles of Beaujolais Nouveau from Trenel house were imported this year.
"This is 40% less compared to last year," Zhurkin said. At the same time, the representative of the industry noted that the import of other wines from the Beaujolais region increased 2.3 times.
The main reason for the reduction in the supply of young wine is the increase in import duties on these products from unfriendly countries. Logistics costs and cuts in marketing budgets for Russia by European suppliers affected the final price for the buyer. She became unattractive.
At the same time, Luding has released an analogue of its own production under the Tour de Lumiere trademark, which has already established itself in the market - its current sales are comparable to sales of French wine last year, a company representative told reporters.
