The throughput capacity will increase 5.5-fold to 2,400 vehicles per day: 1,600 trucks, 500 cars, and 300 buses, according to the press service of the Far Eastern Customs Administration.
Rosgranstroy plans to build the new checkpoint infrastructure in two stages:
➭ New facilities are planned, followed by the demolition of existing ones. The Zabaikalsk checkpoint will be equipped with all modern customs control equipment, including existing inspection and screening systems and weighbridges.
In the first two months of 2026, more than 81,000 individuals (a 63.5% increase compared to the same period in 2025), 4,099 buses (a 32% increase), and 42,606 international vehicles (a 36% increase) passed through the Zabaikalsk checkpoint.
On average, more than 724 trucks moved per day, which is 37% higher than the average daily volume for the same period last year.
