JSC "Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan" is organizing the first container train from India to Uzbekistan, TLCT reports.
A container train consisting of 20 (twenty) TEU containers loaded with ceramic plates was successfully shipped from the Iranian port of Bandar Abbas to Sarakhs (Turkmenistan). The final destination is the Chukursai railway station in Uzbekistan.
At the Sarakhs station in Turkmenistan, wagons belonging to "third" countries are being reloaded into wagons from CIS countries.
JSC "Transport and Logistics Center of Turkmenistan" is actively working on the transportation of regular freight container trains and is working to reduce the time of train trips.
Given the importance of cargo traffic from the Middle East, bilateral meetings were organized in Istanbul in December 2023 between representatives of Uzbekistan Temir Yullari JSC and the Turkmendemirellary Agency.
During the meeting, the parties discussed speeding up the passage of container trains through the territories of Turkmenistan to the territory of Uzbekistan and back, as well as the application of special tariff rates for the transportation of containers through the territories of the parties.
In addition, the parties agreed on the appointment of responsible logistics companies in each country for the organization of transportation along the Uzbekistan-Turkmenistan-further third countries corridor
