A regular meeting of the Kazakh-Belarusian Joint Commission on International Road Transport took place in Astana, according to the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan. During the meeting, the parties held detailed discussions on current issues regarding bilateral and transit freight transport and outlined practical steps toward the comprehensive digitalization of the existing permit system.
The parties agreed to establish a special working group by the end of 2026 and to conduct a pilot project in 2027 to test the practical application of these electronic documents. The transition to an electronic format is intended to significantly reduce administrative procedures, expedite cargo processing, and enhance the overall transparency of transport operations. Experts also explored the possibility of establishing an unlimited quota for permits.
To fully meet the needs of carriers, it was decided to mutually exchange an additional 5,000 permits for 2026. A preliminary quota of 50,000 permits has been agreed upon for 2027.
