Kazakhstan and Turkey have agreed on several key steps to expand cooperation in road freight transportation, according to the Kazakh Ministry of Transport.
In particular, the two countries will soon abandon the exchange of transit permits, and the issuance of permits for bilateral shipments will be transferred to an electronic format, according to Trans.ru.
At the same time, Kazakh carriers will be able to load and unload cargo at Turkish seaports, a service previously available only to Turkish companies.
This is believed to contribute not only to the expansion of transportation between the two countries but also to the development of the Trans-Caspian route, which enables the delivery of goods between Asia and Europe, bypassing Russia.
