At a meeting of the Joint Commission on Road Transport in Samarkand, the parties agreed on a set of measures to reduce administrative barriers, boost freight flows, and foster joint logistics, according to the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan.
• Additional permits. An extra 20,000 freight transport permit forms have been allocated for 2026.
• Transition to a quota-free regime. Plans are in place to implement an unlimited exchange of electronic permits by the end of 2026, effectively eliminating annual limits.
• Seamless transit. Administrative procedures are set to be streamlined to accelerate transit between the two countries.
• Infrastructure development. The parties will synchronize their transport and logistics networks and establish an exchange of expertise regarding road maintenance.
Implementing these agreements will help eliminate key barriers for road haulers, expedite cargo delivery, and significantly boost the transit and trade potential of both nations.
