The capital's authorities and the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan have launched a large-scale inspection of heavy-duty vehicles. Since early April, mobile checkpoints operating in conjunction with automatic weighing systems have been deployed on major highways in Astana, according to the Ministry of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Both mobile checkpoints and modern automated measuring stations are used to check weight parameters. The main goal of the tightened controls is to prevent roadway deterioration and improve traffic safety. The ministry reminds that fines are imposed for violations of established regulations.
Furthermore, seasonal restrictions remain in effect in Kazakhstan: from March 23 to May 1, 2026, axle loads are limited on national roads. These measures are intended to preserve infrastructure during the spring thaw.
