The Inari and Parikkala checkpoints on the Finnish-Russian border, which have not been operating for several years, have finally closed, Interfax reports, citing a statement from the Finnish border service.
Finland has finally closed two checkpoints on the border with the Russian Federation
"The temporary border checkpoints located in Parikkala and Lieksa are closed," the newspaper informs.
Traffic at the Parikkala checkpoint was stopped in 2022, and at Inari, which is located in the city of Lieksa, in 2021.
At the same time, the Finnish border guard said that the opening of these checkpoints is possible in the future if Moscow and Helsinki reach an appropriate agreement.
