Starting October 27, 2026, carriers passing through the Hamzabeyli (Turkish-Bulgarian border) and Cilvegözü (Turkish-Syrian border) crossings are required to book a slot in advance to enter the GTİ truck parking facilities, reports BAMAP. According to the UND association, this queue management system has been introduced to optimize traffic flow and reduce congestion.
Trucks arriving from RMG sites will no longer be permitted to enter the GTİ area without a confirmed booking. The only exception applies to vehicles transporting explosive or highly flammable cargo; for these, the existing procedures remain in place.
Drivers are strongly advised against using the GTİ parking facilities for their mandatory rest periods as required by tachograph regulations. This measure is intended to ease the strain on infrastructure and increase the throughput capacity at the border.
Bookings must be made via the official online platform. Carriers should plan their logistics in advance and inform their staff about these new requirements to avoid delays and penalties.
