The Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation has developed a bill on the complete transfer of labeling of imported alcohol to the territory of Russia. This is reported on the website of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation, writes TASS.
"A draft law has been published providing for the complete transfer of labeling of imported alcoholic beverages with federal special stamps to the territory of the Russian Federation," the message says.
It is noted that the experiment will last until 2026, and this bill provides that from March 1, 2026, labeling will be carried out only in Russia on a permanent basis. This will ensure the gradual transfer of labeling to the territory of the Russian Federation.
It is clarified that now the labeling of alcohol with federal special brands should be carried out before the import of such products into the Russian Federation, but at the same time, since 2021, an experiment on labeling is being conducted in Moscow and St. Petersburg, as well as in the territories of Leningrad, Kaliningrad, Moscow, Smolensk, Bryansk, Vladimir, Pskov regions, Krasnodar Territory and the Republic of Tatarstan on the territory of the Russian Federation, imported alcoholic beverages placed under the customs procedure of a customs warehouse.
Currently, importers' costs for alcohol labeling are associated with paying for the services of logistics companies and labeling centers located outside the country.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the transfer of labeling to the Russian Federation will ensure independence from services provided by Western countries, and will also allow financial resources to be concentrated in Russia to pay for such services. At the same time, the transfer of labeling with federal special brands of imported alcoholic beverages will contribute to the creation of new jobs, infrastructure facilities and the formation of logistics routes in the territory of the Russian Federation, as well as modernization and increase in storage capacity.
