1,400 trucks have accumulated on the Hungarian-Ukrainian border due to protests in Poland and Slovakia.
At the Zahon border checkpoint on the Hungarian side, the queue of trucks stretched for 22 kilometers, ATV TV channel reports. After the blocking of the Ukrainian-Polish and Ukrainian-Slovak borders, many carriers are trying to get to Ukraine through Hungary.
According to RIA Novosti, some cars have been queuing for three days. However, there are no problems with food and fuel for drivers. Many were ready for such congestion. According to the former head of the checkpoint, Zoltan Magyar, this had not been observed at the border before. Now, due to the accumulation of trucks and fog on the border, a dangerous situation has developed, which has led to several fatal accidents, reports Zoltan Magyar.
Recall that the Union of Slovak Automobile Carriers decided to join the protest of Polish colleagues on the border with Ukraine.
