On January 9, freight traffic began moving along the international pontoon bridge connecting the Russian Blagoveshchensk and the Chinese Heihe. This is reported by the Ministry of Transport of the Amur region.

The ministry noted that all the services that ensure the operation of the facility have started the traffic mode according to the cargo and passenger transport pass scheme. Since January 3, the bridge has been operating only for passenger traffic.
From December 30 to January 7, about 11.5 thousand people crossed the border (until December 3, passengers were transported by hovercraft, and then by buses), the message emphasizes.
In addition, international cargo transportation in the Amur Region is carried out via a cross-border road bridge over the Amur River. On the Russian side, they are served by the Kani-Kurgan checkpoint.
